AerobiKicK is the ONLY place in my life that I am able to achieve complete balance of mind, body and spirit. I walk in class and for one hour everything else goes away… the tension of work, the worries about loved ones, the every day struggles, it all gets left behind. However, once I leave, and the concerns, etc. return, I become immediately aware of how much stronger I feel physically, mentally and emotionally, and how much smaller the problems have become.
David and Beth McLaughlin have taught me so much, and I carry those teachings with me daily. I find that with every physical movement, I make every effort to utilize those movements to enhance my physical health. I am now so aware of my physical self… I find that my posture has greatly improved, I don’t ‘lean’ on anything if standing in a line for any reason, I look forward to the constant trips back and forth to the copier, printer, etc, at work, and the list is endless. I can’t help but laugh when I hear David say if any of us leave class grumbling at him, his work is done! I have to admit there are many times when he is in front of class encouraging us to move beyond what we THINK is our absolute limit, the “COME ON!” that has, from time to time, made me want to just punch him, but I trust him completely, and always manage to find that inner strength to go the full “15 rounds” as David likes to say. As a scrawny kid, I was always picked last to be on any team… but David calls us all “athletes”… and for me, being considered an athlete is an absolute honor.
David and Beth, I could truly go on and on. How is it possible to thank you for such priceless gifts, given with so much care and true commitment to the well being of others? I will forever be changed for having found your class, and because of AerobiKicK, I have become a stronger person, in mind, body and spirit. With all my heart, I thank you!

My name is Jennifer, and I joined AerobiKicK in June. I located your class by surfing the web for Taekwondo classes. Your web site with the creative symbol that you chose for mind, body, and spirit caught my eye. I then read your philosophy, testimonials, and your very extensive and impressive background and I was ready to sign up.
During the first class in June I thought I was going to fall over and die, but your incredible energy kept me motivated to continue.
The first several weeks of attending Wednesday and Saturday classes were very painful but your enthusiasm for fitness, was, and is, extremely contagious.
Now in May I feel better than I have in a very long time. Because of attending class twice a week for the last 11 months I have lost 22 pounds and 2 pant sizes. More importantly my fitness level is soaring. My cardio strength, flexibility, and muscle definition has greatly improved. And internally I feel more calm, in control, and optimistic about my future.
I can’t thank you enough for this wonderful and exciting class that you teach. You truly have a gift as an instructor and motivator. As I continue to attend classes, I am neither bored nor unchallenged. On the contrary, this class continues to challenge and excite me.

I started AerobiKicK boxing 3 years ago after moving to Lewisville. I was looking for an aerobic class to fit my fitness plan. My apartment is equipped with a fitness center that has weights and cardio equipment. I needed a high-energy class to fill a void from a double 2-step class I was leaving back in my old city. This class fits into my schedule, with AerobiKicK 2 days a week I can do 3-4 days of weights and cardio. Keeping off 65 lbs. already lost, which includes the 20 lbs. I have lost in this class, does take showing up for class every time.
David does a great job in keeping the workouts fresh and shows different ways to work the same muscles. Taking off weight, keeping it off, or maintaining weight takes good planning and scheduling. Planning what to eat and exercising go hand in hand and as long as David keeps teaching this class, I'll be here!

I started taking the AerobiKicK class in June, 2001. Combined with Weight Watchers, this class has helped me lose 15
pounds to date (October, 2001) and keep it off. I was wearing size 10 and 12 jeans, and last weekend I bought size 6
jeans! I feel better about myself and feel more physically fit. This class has helped me get off the couch and become
more active. Dave is a great instructor and motivates the participants to push themselves to their highest potential.

David McLaughlin has provided two very simple, but extremely effective, exercise tips that have changed the quality of my exercise routine: (1) Always count or keep some sort of cadence during my work; this has increased the intensity of workouts. It does not matter whether I am walking, jogging or during an exercise video. (2) Do sit-ups using a rope tied around a door knob; this has increased my abdominal strength and endurance. I even enjoy doing sit-ups now in AerobiKicK.

I started AerobiKicK 2 years ago. I was really active in college back in Europe; rowing, ballet, running, volleyball, etc. were a part of my life (routine). My diet has always been very healthy.
When I came to the United States 3 years ago I couldn't practice my favorite sport. I really didn't run because of the heat. I gave myself a bunch of excuses.
After gaining a few pounds I really had to do something that I'd enjoy and then I started David McLaughlin's class and I loved it. The class is great. Dave is really close to each of us, which is really rare at a gym. I hate missing class and I think I reached my goal. I went from almost a size 7, to a size 4, which is now too big for me. 10 pounds less makes me feel so much better and my body looks much toner than it used to be.

I started AerobiKicK in the middle of the 2002 Winter/Spring Session. The class I have been taking (while waiting for the Summer Session of AerobiKicK to start) has been pretty good; however, it has not challenged me like AerobiKicK does! At the end of the very first class of this other aerobic kickboxing program I knew I could keep going for longer than an hour. At the end of the AerobiKicK classes, I am usually just glad to have the energy to walk to the car! Ha! The adrenaline kicks in rather quickly though and then I feel refreshed and energized. The other class does get my heart rate up and I feel like it is keeping me from "sliding back" too much during the break. It is just that I couldn't believe that I actually felt so strong and confident in a martial arts studio. I truly believe it is the fact that I had been in David's AerobiKicK class that gave me that confidence! My registration papers have already been sent in and I look forward to the Summer AerobiKicK class beginning soon.

This class is the best thing that could have happened for me. I was gaining more weight than I care to mention, and knew I was not in as good of shape as I should be for my age (26).
Not only have I become stronger physically, but my self-esteem has jumped a great deal as well. I don't know what I'd do without Dave and Beth, they are an inspiration. Michele |

Hi, my name is Rosy and I have been taking AerobiKicK classes for 2 years.
I ask myself why I never knew about these classes, because before I would do diets and exercise and now that I have 3 kids this is a perfect class to take because I get a lot of energy and I workout my muscles. I remember that I use to wear a size 14, but now that I just turned 41 years old I use a size 8, thanks to these classes. And I hope to keep staying healthy so I can continue to come. My daughter Janet, who is 6 years old, always comes with me, so there is no excuse for me not to go and I'm so happy and satisfied with this course.
My instructor, David McLaughlin, is excellent. David motivates us and helps us to keep going, and when we don't have class, he still motivates us to do them at home. He is sincerely a very positive person.

I began David McLaughlin's AerobiKicK class in May 1999. Since then I have been a regular attendee 3 days a week. I have been able to trim my waist, keep my stomach flat and no longer have that ugly jiggle under my triceps.
But the REAL benefit is my physical health. Three years ago I began developing osteopenia - the very early stage of osteoporosis. I have yearly bone density scans to monitor the condition. In the scan I had April 2000, I actually showed improvement especially in the hip area. And I have dropped an amazing 50 points in my cholesterol readings. My LDL and HDL ratios have improved as well. My physician is convinced, as am I, that the amount of exercise I am getting from AerobiKicK 2000 played a major role in these improvements.
I am a 49 year old and I feel in better health, both mentally and physically, than I have ever felt. A regular exercise program is definitely the key to good health!

I have joined your AerobiKicK 2001 program at the Lewisville Recreation Center since September 2001. Prior to that I had never exercised in my life. I am 35 and a mother of three, my youngest being a year old. This summer I realized how tired I felt every hour. In fact after my shower every morning I was ready to jump back into bed. But after 4 weeks of attending your program, and doing only this 3 hours of work out every week in the class, I can see the difference.
I am no longer tired. I am up until 10 every night and at 6 in the morning I jump right out of bed and am no longer groggy. I did not join this program to lose any weight, but I wanted to build my stamina and feel good. I have accomplished my goal both for retaining my stamina through every day and also feeling good. I always wear clothes with a stretchable waistline. Last Wednesday when I wore a regular skirt it fell from my waist to my hips. I realized I had lost a few dress sizes.
Today is the beginning of my 5th week and where I sat to do our stretch exercises I noticed my feet were stretching more than half a tile on the floor, which is approximately 6 inches.
Thanks to both of you, Dave and Beth, for your inspiration and teaching the right techniques. When people talk of martial arts I always sense vanity and a show of muscles. I like Dave's style because I constantly sense humility.

AerobiKicK for me is fun, the physical toning happens to be a great plus. The instructors truly care about the whole person in the class; they help you focus on what is happening during the hour that you are there. The other people in the class are just as wonderful. I have met some really great people in this class and look forward to meeting more.
I have been taking this class since June of 2001 and have toned at least one size since then, but the class is more than losing weight. Eleanor |
